Pyritic Crystalline Gold and Silver in Quartz
Stunning specimen of pyritic crystalline gold and silver in a quartz host rock from the Carbolite Mine in Boulder County, Colorado. The gold and silver is present in shiny crystalline structures.

Crystalized Gold, Silver, and Lead vein (Pyritic) Exposed with Quartz, Sulfides, and possible Fluorite
An excellent sample of Colorado Gold and Silver ore, this crystallized ore Sulfide mix demonstrates a unique composition. The gold and silver is in crystalline form, possibly intertwined with pyrites, and gives a shiny silver appearance. Similar samples from the Carbolite Mine were tested by assay and returned a result of several ounces of silver per ton, and some gold, originally having been mined for it's silver content. This great specimen was recovered from the main shaft at the Carbolite Mine, and is an excellent display specimen.

Small Crystalline High Grade Silver, Lead, and Gold Ore
This is a superb specimen of the Carbolite Mine's high grade Silver and Gold ore. One face of the specimen is nearly entirely covered in fairly coarse grain crystals, a rare and high grade formation. The silver and gold mixture is present in thin veins throughout the host rock, and can be seen on the back side in small amounts. Similar samples from the Carbolite Mine were tested and returned a result of several ounces of silver per ton, and some gold, originally having been mined for it's silver content. The crystals seen on the Carbolite Mine's specimens are comprised of Silver, Gold, Lead, and Pyrite.

Mineralized Quartz
Quartz fragment with sharp edges showing mineralization. From the Great Colorado Mine in the Manhattan Mining District, the Northmost gold mining district in all of Colorado. This sample comes from a large quartz vein approximately 100 feet North of the main shaft.

Crystalline Quartz with Sulfides
This specimen comes from the Dives-Pelican Mine above Silver Plume. Purchased from an old collector, who obtained the specimen from the Dives-Pelican mine during the 1940s. The mine was operated during the 1880s, and produced silver and lead.

Pitchblende Gold Ore with Quartz Intrusions
This specimen is a great example of pitchblende ore from the Manhattan Mining District in Larimer County, Colorado. The dark pitchblende contains geometric quartz intrusions. This is one of the purest samples I have discovered in the area, and is a rarity due to the amount of ore removed over the past 140 years.
